I’ll use the ADDIE framework to create bespoke eLearning for you. However, when I use the framework, it won’t be rigid or linear (as a first view of the framework implies). I’ll bend it to meet the needs of your specific project. This might mean I’m working on different phases simultaneously.

Below is a summary of the typical process I take when creating bespoke eLearning.

ANALYSIS

In this phase, we will:

Identify the overall business goal
Identify whether training is the best solution to meet this goal
Identify what is going to be measured and what methods of evaluation we will use
Identify the learning need and the requirements for meeting that need
Learner identification, which includes:
- who the learners are
- what desired new behaviour will be
- how that learning will benefit them and the organisation
- what motivates them
- other relevant characteristics
Identify resources
Identify the problem
Identify the learning goals
Identify timeframe
Identify what learning constraints exist
Identify delivery options
If required, create Learner Personas

DESIGN

In this phase, we will:

Write learning objectives
Create storyboards
Brainstorm and plan content
If required, write scripts
Create first prototypes
Test ideas and current thinking

DEVELOPMENT

In this phase, we will:

Develop the content
Create associated materials
Test the materials and revise as appropriate
Do a pilot test

IMPLEMENTATION

In this phase, we will:

In this phase, we will:

Collect data
Formative and summative evaluation taken into account
Identify whether the business goal was met
Identify whether the learning objectives where met
If required, recommendations for improvements and future iterations
